May '14 - Victoria Fisheries Officers have recently apprehended seven anglers along the Rubicon River for exceeding the bag limit for Brook Trout and other offences.

Officers are maintaining an active presence in the area following misinformation circulated on social media that no limits applied to Brook Trout in this river. 

Brook Trout are subject to a bag and possession limit of 5 fish per day, with no min. or max. size.

As a result of their surveilance and inspections, Fisheries officers seized a total of 94 fish and 7 anglers will be charged on summons over a range of offences.

The offences occurred on a 5 klm stretch of the Rubicon River between Tumbling Waters and Camp Jungai.
